Time is flying! We are now four weeks away from the most anticipated IGNITE yet, and the buzz is now palpable. On 4 and 5 November, this IGNITE brings more activities and speakers than ever before, and a new cool venue to host it all in.
That venue is The Worx – one of London’s leading contemporary venue spaces. Primarily used as a photographic studio, the Worx is a quirky and different – a fantastic environment to engage with the latest trends in technology and network with your peers in a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. It certainly has a ‘Nimbus feel’ to it.
A great venue to shout about is one thing, but it deserves a top-class agenda to complement it. In our humble opinion, we’re confident we’ve got that covered. This year we have sourced some of the most well respected and innovative leaders in digital disruption to give you insight into their success stories.
Speakers to look out for:
Samantha Yarwood, EMEA Marketing Director at Starbucks
Samantha is part of the team leading the European release of the company’s mobile app which allows customers to buy coffee on a ‘click and collect’ basis. The app has been immensely impressive in the US, where it now accounts for 14% of all Starbucks’ sales. Samantha will shed light on how she is bringing the app to the EMEA markets.
Mary Kyriakidi, VP Insight for Branded Services and Content at BBC Worldwide
Mary has a fantastic session lined up around a project she has run at the BBC to analyse users’ emotive reactions to viewer content using a cutting-edge facial recognition tool. Mary will give her insight into the changing culture at the BBC, incubating a startup, and remaining at the bleeding edge of innovation. CrowdEmotion will be on hand over the two days in our new Innovation Uncovered lounge to give you the chance to interact with their facial recognition tech.

Tesla Motors is at the forefront of the global fight to displace combustion engines vehicles with electric ones. So, what measures is one of the world’s hottest tech companies taking to overhaul its marketplace? Georg Ell will talk open patents, acting like a start-up, and changing perceptions.

New and improved Innovation Uncovered
We’ve taken our Innovation Uncovered facet within IGNITE up another notch. As well as the dedicated Innovation Uncovered breakout stream we now also have a dedicated lounge for our delegates to pop in and immerse themselves in live demonstrations of tech innovation.
We are pleased to announce that we will have a Jaguar Land Rover display car demonstrating the latest connected car technology in the lounge alongside other cool tech such as CrowdEmotion’s facial recognition technology that they can test on you and show the results live!
IGNITE Awards
On the evening of the first day of IGNITE we are hosting our first ever IGNITE Awards ceremony and dinner.
We would like to thank all those who submitted an entry. We received a fantastic response with an exceptionally high standard of submissions. After an extremely difficult process, the IGNITE judges have now whittled those entries down to three finalists for each category.
For a full list of awards finalists click here.
The judges will now meet in person on Tuesday 14 October for the next stage of the examining process from which the winners will be chosen. These will then be announced at the awards ceremony. Congratulations and good luck to all of our finalists!
